Alert for SmartPass 4.5 and Windows XP service pack 2

UPDATE August 26, 2004: Hotfix available from Microsoft,
SmartPass 4.6 beta release available from V-ONE.
UPDATE August 12, 2004: Microsoft has identified this as a known
problem and is working on a hot fix that they estimate will be available
within 2 weeks. V-ONE will communicate the details of how to download
this fix as soon as the information becomes available.
Tech Alert:
Microsoft is currently preparing to release Service Pack 2 for Windows
XP. This is a substantial update to the current operating system.
Because our current release was issued before this Service Pack,
it is not supported. V-ONE is preparing to release SmartPass 4.6,
and has tested it with Release Candidates 1 and 2 of Service Pack
2. Both of these release candidates worked well with SmartPass.
However, the Generally Available Release of Service Pack 2 has been
modified from these release candidates, and we have discovered that
it does not work with the SmartPass Layered Service Provider.
V-ONE is currently
diagnosing the problem to provide an updated SmartPass client that
works with Service Pack 2. Resolving this issue is our top priority.
To prevent loading
Service Pack 2 until this issue has been resolved, please use the
following site provided by Microsoft.
