SmartGate Technical Notes

Tech Note: 022802

4.2b adds 3rd Party Authentication Enhancement.

New in SmartGate 4.2b is the ability for SmartGate to disable a user's accounts after a defined number of tries. This feature is available for Radius, SecureID and LDAP.

How it works: From SmartAdmin Web, go to the Configuration/Authentication page. At the bottom are new fields for Maximum Authentication Failures. If the user fails authentication the maximum times set, SmartGate will disable the account. The account remains disabled until the Administrator resets it.

Please use IE 5.5 or 6.0 to access this feature in SmartAdmin Web.

This tech note applies to the following V-ONE products:
SmartGate Server 4.2b: Windows NT 4.0 & Windows 2000, Linux RedHat 6.0, 6.1, 6.2, 7.0 & 7.1, Solaris 2.6, 7, & 8
SmartPass Client: All supported versions
