IMsecure® Pro LSP Conflict with SmartPass®

Issue: A Winsock 2 Layered Service from Zone Labs, that ensures that IM conversations are private and secure, protecting PCs and valuable personal information from spammers, identity thieves, hackers and predators who exploit vulnerable IM connections.

Alias: IMsecure

Symptom: System will lose Internet connectivity and the shim will be corrupted.

Detection: User may run the "sporder" command from the Windows "Run" command line to view the Shim'TCP/IP stack. A line entry of "imslsp over[MFASD Tcpip [TCPIP]]" will be present.

Resolution:

1. Uninstall application per manufacturer's instructions
2. Uninstall SmartPass (If Installed)
3. Run LSPFix.exe and repair shim if shim is damaged
4. Verify TCP/IP connectivity
5. Reinstall SmartPass Client
6. Verify that SmartPass is working correctly
