Important Notice: End Of Life (EOL) and Last Buy notice for Runner 1000
and Runner 2000
Growth in the number of e-Commerce enabled web servers and the consequent proliferation of online transactions
has increased the demand for high-level security. In order to guarantee true security for these transactions,
most e-Commerce web servers use the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol.
However, standard transaction servers are not designed for the large computer processing requirements associated
with SSL and can only handle small volumes of secure traffic. Slow web servers result in customer frustration
and loss of valuable business. The addition of an AEP Runner significantly improves the overall performance of a
web server by boosting SSL performance as well as freeing up valuable CPU for other application specific activities.
AEP Networks has developed the fastest SSL accelerator range available.
AEP Runner 1000 and AEP Runner 2000 offer performances of 1000 and 2000 (1024-bit) SSL transactions per second respectively.
By fully off-loading all compute-intensive cryptographic functions from a server, AEP Runner eliminates all bottlenecks and
maximizes potential e-Business capacity.

End Of Life (EOL) and Last Buy Notice for Runner 1000 and Runner 2000
In late 2005, AEP Networks announced that the AEP Runner 1000 and Runner 2000 SSL accelerator cards would be taken to EOL from 1 January 2006. The AEP Runner product line has delivered leading SSL acceleration for many years, but AEP's change in focus to secure networking and remote access means that we have had to make the difficult decision to end production. AEP has already built its next generation accelerator device, the AEP Runner10K, into the flagship AEP Keyper Enterprise product and continues to develop market leading security solutions. For more details of AEP's products and solutions visit http://www.aepnetworks.com/products/products.htm
The effects of the EOL are as follows:
- There will be no further development to the product.
- Interoperability support will be strictly limited to the currently supported operating systems and platforms.
- Hardware will be covered by AEP Networks’ standard repair or replacement service under warranty for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase. A limited hardware replacement service will be available up to customers purchasing hardware support up to 31 December 2007.
- Software warranty will be provided with new purchases on a return basis only for a period of 90 days form purchase. There will be no additional software driver support available after 1 January 2006.
We still have a limited number of cards still available and they will be sold on a first come first serve basis while stocks last.
