AEP Networks’ products are designed to deliver the highest levels of security. AEP Secure Networking products are certified to FIPS 140-1, Level 4 and ITSEC E3, with FIPS 140-2, Level 4 pending.

AEP SmartGate Certification Overview

AEP SmartGate provides government grade security for sensitive information sharing environments. All cryptographic modules of the SmartGate server, not just subcomponents, are FIPS 140-2 validated by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and SmartGate has received PKI interoperability certification from the Department of Defense Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC).

SSL VPN Certification Overview

AEP Netilla Security Platform
	AEP Networks Netilla SSL VPN products have earned ICSA Labs' prestigious SSL VPN Gateway Certification, and are in full compliance with ICSA Lab's rigorous security standards. AEP was also a Charter Member of the SSL-TLS Product Developers' Consortium.
	VPNC's certification program involves extensive testing that mimics real-world experiences of SSL VPN users. The testing guarantees security, functionality and interoperability with business-critical applications, such as Microsoft Outlook Web Access. Certification also assures SSL VPN users that they can access applications remotely using the latest version of the Mozilla Firefox browser.
	The FIPS-certified NSP leverages AEP Network's revolutionary ACCE (Advanced Configurable Crypto Environment) technology. ACCE is the next generation, flexible cryptographic platform that provides the highest levels of assurance: FIPS 140.
	The CSIA is a unit of the UK Government's Cabinet Office and works with partners in the public and private sectors, as well as its international counterparts, to help safeguard the nation's IT and telecommunications services.

AEP Networks has certified AEP hardware security modules to a variety of levels of assurance, depending on the market requirements and product specification.

The following table overviews the certificates received for each product to-date:

AEP Keyper Professional is currently the only hardware security module in the world to be certified to FIPS 140-1, Level 4 and ITSEC E3. Furthermore, since October 2000 AEP Networks is the only company in the world to have achieved FIPS 140-1, Level 4 certification for a hardware security module.

In addition, AEP offers the most reliable, high assurance security system in its class by combining proven software-based security components with a fast, secure hardware platform. AEP incorporates Advanced Configurable Crypto Environment (ACCE), which allows a wide range of secure hardware products to be created from a common base, speeding integration and assuring a high degree of scalability.
