V-ONE CEO Named to President's National Infrastructure Advisory Council; Council to Advise President on Security of Critical Information Systems Infrastructures

GERMANTOWN, Md., Sep 19, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- V-ONE Corporation (Nasdaq:VONE), a leading provider of VPN security products, today announced that Margaret E. Grayson, President & CEO of V-ONE Corporation, has been appointed to the National Infrastructure Advisory Council (NIAC) serving at the request of President George W. Bush.
Mr. Richard A. Clarke, chairman of the President's Critical Infrastructure Protection Board (PCIPB), serves as the executive director of NIAC.

NIAC was created by an October 2001 Executive Order on Critical Infrastructure Protection to ensure the safety of vital information systems infrastructures, including emergency preparedness communications, and the physical assets that support such systems, in the information age.

The order specifies that NIAC shall provide the President advice on the security of information systems for critical infrastructure supporting sectors of the economy. In addition, the Council will propose and develop ways to encourage private industry to perform periodic risk assessments of critical information and telecommunications systems.

NIAC will work to enhance the partnership of the public and private sectors to protect information systems for critical infrastructure and provide reports on these issues to the President through the PCIPB.

The 30-member council has expertise relevant to the functions of the NIAC and were selected from industry Chief Executive Officers, academicians, and state and local government representatives with responsibilities for the security of information infrastructure supporting the critical sectors of the economy, including banking and finance, transportation, energy, communications, and emergency government services.

"I am honored to be selected by the President to serve as a member of NIAC and I look forward to working with Mr. Clarke and the other Council members," said Ms. Grayson. "The creation of this Council highlights the serious attention being given by the President to potential threats not only against the American people and our Nation's physical structures, but also against our critical data infrastructures."

Margaret Grayson has been President & CEO of V-ONE Corporation since November 2000, and previously held the position of Senior Vice President and CFO. She has been a Company director since August 1999, and also sits on the Board of Directors for the Montgomery College Foundation.
