Technology Successfully Completes JITC Testing |

GERMANTOWN, Md., Jan 10, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- V-ONE Corporation (OTCPK:VNEC), a global Internet security company, today announced it has received JITC interoperability certification from the Department of Defense (DoD) for its SmartGate(R) and SmartGuard(TM) security products. This important certification was granted as a result of rigorous testing by the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) Certification Lab, a unit of the DoD Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). The JITC Certification Lab was created as an independent facility to perform interoperability testing and certification of public key enabling (PKE) applications. DoD policy requires that applications be tested to ensure compatibility with the DoD PKI architecture. The certification process is based on a master test plan used as a guideline for testing individual applications in such areas as retrieving certificates, importing and exporting keys and certificates, and checking certificate status. Successful accreditation provides confidence that the application is properly and securely using the infrastructure. "JITC's evaluation and accreditation of V-ONE's products is an important achievement," said Margaret E. Grayson, president and CEO of V-ONE Corporation. "With the GAO expressing concerns over the burden of deploying managed PKI services, agencies are turning to certified products such as SmartGate that can provide proven functionality in compliance with DoD policy." V-ONE's application layer VPN technology operates as middleware to cost-effectively extend PKI infrastructure. The technology enables standard x.509 software certificates, smart cards, and CACs for authentication using FIPS-validated encryption and access controls. SmartGate's ability to work seamlessly with an enterprise's or agency's existing networks and systems, and to eliminate the need to individually PKI enable web and legacy applications, dramatically reduces the time and costs to deploy and manage a fully functional PKI environment. About V-ONE Corporation V-ONE's application layer SSL VPN security products are the most secure, cost effective and easiest to manage network solutions for the remote access, wireless and satellite markets.
