V-ONE Corporation Press Release
V-ONE Technology Selected by Department of Defense; SmartGuard Appliances Will Secure Remote Access To DISA Network

GERMANTOWN, Md., Oct 13, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- V-ONE Corporation (OTCPK:VNEC), a global Internet security company, today announced it has received an order from the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) for its SmartGuard(TM) 4500 VPN security appliances. The appliances will provide application layer SSL VPN protection, enabling secure remote access for network administrators to reach all Network Operation Centers across the global DISA Information Systems Network.

As a combat support agency of the U.S. Department of Defense, DISA is responsible for planning, engineering, acquiring, fielding, and supporting global net-centric solutions. The designated core missions of DISA are communications, joint command and control, defensive information operations, combat support computing, and joint interoperability support.

"V-ONE is very pleased that our technology was selected to help secure the DISA network that is so critical to our Nation's defense," said Margaret Grayson, president and CEO of V-ONE Corporation. "V-ONE's appliances, with our integrated FIPS token, provide the reliability and high level of security necessary to meet the stringent DISA requirements."

SmartGuard appliances enable secure access to specific TCP/IP based applications and internal resources through the Internet by providing a framework for strong data encryption, access control, mutual multi-factor authentication, and audit logging. The devices are available in a range of performance models that are all rapidly deployable and ideally suited for remote access, extranet and intranet configurations. SmartGuards can be managed from a local or remote PC, and incorporate a user friendly graphical interface, integrated Web server, and firewall.

V-ONE was selected from the field of vendor products following a rigorous DISA evaluation that considered strength of security, including U.S. government NIST-certified FIPS 140 compliance. Other key selection factors were ability to integrate seamlessly into the DISA network, cost-effective deployment, ease of set-up, configuration and use, and the quality of V-ONE's technical support.
