New A-Class Netilla Security Platform from AEP Networks Delivers Unmatched Versatility at Entry-Level Price
New “Enterprise Bundle” Pricing Plans Give Customers The Features They Need, For Less
INTEROP 2005, Las Vegas – May 3, 2005 – Moving to bring all the benefits of SSL VPN-based secure application access within reach of smaller businesses, AEP Networks today took the wraps off its most compact and affordable full-function SSL VPN platform yet. The new Netilla Security Platform A-Class combines affordability with the industry's broadest range of SSL-encrypted application access modes – including Netilla's unique “thin-client” capability.
Set for widespread availability in June, the new NSP A-Class uses the same ultra-compact hardware platform (9.5 x 5.7 x 1.3 inches) as the company's popular Secure Gateway Appliance line of application-specific SSL VPN gateways. But unlike SGA, the A-Class gives customers the flexibility to mix and match any of AEP's three license types – thin, Web or SSL tunnel – up to a maximum of 25 concurrent users.
“Our new A-Class Netilla Security Platform is expressly designed for the many smaller enterprises who need an affordable entrée into SSL VPNs along with the flexibility to customize a solution for their specific access needs,” said Reggie Best, executive vice president of AEP Networks' Secure Application Access Business. “A-Class customers benefit from all of the rich policy enforcement, Web application security and broad access features of our latest NSP Release 5.2, now in a more convenient and affordable package.”
In a separate move, AEP announced two “Enterprise Bundle” pricing plans that make it easier to purchase some of its most-requested license combinations at special package rates.
The new Client Integrity Enterprise Bundle, for example, combines Host Integrity, Secure Desktop, Cache Cleaning and Adaptive Policies options into one competitively priced package. The more comprehensive Enterprise Bundle includes all the Client Integrity features while adding Web application licenses and SSL Tunnel licenses. Pricing for each bundle is based on the number of concurrent users, which can range from 10 to 2,000 (with no limit on the number of named users).
NSP A-Class: Full Function, Entry-Level Price
The NSP A-Class lets customers purchase up to 25 user licenses in any of Netilla’s three access models. These include Web-based and intranet applications (Web licenses), network-connect for client/server applications (tunnel licenses), or universal access to virtually any enterprise application (thin-client licenses).
A typical A-Class configuration – including hardware platform with Netilla O/S and a 10-license Enterprise bundle with Web, tunnel and full client integrity features – carries a list price of just $5,250. For 25 concurrent licenses, the price is $7,500.
Although a highly affordable system, the A-Class gives customers the full benefits of AEP's Netilla Security Platform architecture. These include the innovative V-Realms Client Identity Engine, which makes it easy for administrators to set up separate realms for different user groups, each with distinct authentication and authorization policies. Additionally, AEP's sophisticated Web reverse proxy architecture ensures strong Web application security – and with Release 5.2 has been enhanced to support a broader range of Web applications.
About the AEP Netilla Security Platform
Named “Best VPN Solution” by the SC Magazine Global Awards 2005, the Netilla Security Platform is an enterprise- class SSL VPN appliance that delivers secure remote access to the broadest range of enterprise applications via standard Web browsers. Its versatile design incorporates three SSL access modes – thin, Web and tunnel – that provide access to client/server, Web/intranet and "fat client" applications.
The NSP's recently announced Release 5.2 offers FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standards) 140-1, Level 3 compliance, an important governmental security standard in the U.S. and elsewhere, along with broader support for Web-based applications.
The Netilla Security Platform is available in four classes (G, E, B and A) that can support up to 2,000 concurrent users.
