AEP Networks Announces New Partnership with Authentication Experts VASCO Data Security

Somerset, NJ – February 6, 2006 – AEP Networks is pleased to announce a new partnership with VASCO, the authentication company, aimed at providing customers with a total end-to-end security solution for remote and mobile workers. As part of the extended partnership, VASCO’s VACMAN Controller has been natively integrated into the AEP Netilla Security Platform (NSP). New customers will receive two Digipass GO3 hardware authentication products when they buy the NSP.

VASCO’s Digipass authentication solution plugs the security gap caused by static passwords for user authentication and is a fully complementary fit with the NSP. As Jan Vekemans , AEP Networks’ Vice President of Business Development, explains, “The NSP meets some of the industry’s most stringent security standards including FIPS certification. However, offering the very best in network and application access security is only part of the story; there is still one weakness in the security chain – the user himself.” The integration of VASCO’s VACMAN Controller two-factor authentication software into the NSP takes care of the user threat adding yet another level of security to AEP’s flexible working proposition.

In addition to providing an end-to-end security solution, customers also benefit from a reduction in purchasing, implementation and maintenance costs as the integration of VASCO software into the NSP negates the need for a separate additional authentication server. All Digipass configuration and management can be performed from within the NSP’s administrative web interface. Vekemans concludes, “By working together, AEP Networks and VASCO are not only offering a best of breed security solution but providing our customers with lower total cost of ownership.”
