AEP Networks Announces Next-Generation SSL VPNNew AEP Netilla SSL VPN Models Offer Unlimited Use Licensing and Tight Integration with AEP IDpoint for Granular Access Control to Critical Data Center Applications Somerset , NJ – April 1, 2008 – AEP Networks, the leader in policy-based networking, today introduced the latest version of its SSL VPN product family. The AEP Netilla SSL VPN Release 6.0 includes unlimited user licensing, new hardware platforms and enhanced client integrity features. It also includes integration with AEP IDpoint to provide end-to-end granular user access to critical resources and applications in the data center. AEP Netilla SSL VPN product family The new Netilla SSL VPN platform is available in the following models:
Unlimited License Bundle The new pricing model for Netilla SSL VPN includes unlimited concurrent-use of:
Client Integrity New client integrity features use AEP Networks technology, rNAC. The cache-cleaner feature can be enabled/disabled per Netilla realm and will clear cache in case of browser or OS crash, reset or power failure. It cleans cache of URL history, cookies, stored passwords, filled forms data and changed registry values. Client integrity checks for a wide range of firewall, anti-virus, malware, and registry settings. The rNAC feature runs as one of Netilla's authentication stages within the realm framework. It also allows for location-awareness – differing client integrity policy based upon the location of the client. AEP IDpoint™ Interoperability Enterprise and mid-range models now include tight integration between AEP Netilla SSL VPN and AEP IDpoint, extending identity-based access control through the network edge, a significant benefit compared with alternative resource access control methods. By using Netilla SSL VPN with IDpoint PacketTag proxy, and authenticated remote access user does not require an IDpoint token. Instead, Netilla embeds a unique PacketTag in the TCP/IP frame to identify the user, and inserts this tag into IP packets destined for critical data center resources. The IDpoint identity enforcement point appliance then compares user identity to resource access policy. This feature is available on the Netilla 4000 and Netilla 6000/6100 models. "The Netilla name continues to be well recognized among thousands of customers and hundreds of partners worldwide as a powerful SSL VPN solution," stated Reginald P. Best, COO of AEP Networks. "The new pricing models and features will allow our channel partners to uniquely position Netilla as part of a differentiated policy networking solution in a greater number of customer opportunities. Customers are getting the full-feature value of Netilla for a very competitive price.” Availability Release 6.0 of Netilla will be available to customers beginning May 1, 2008, via AEP channel partners worldwide.
