Magirus Adds Duo of Leading Security Vendors to its PortfolioMagirus signs AEP Networks and Yoggie Security Systems BRACKNELL, UK – July 9, 2007 – Magirus, one of the leading European IT systems and software distributors, announced today the signing of two new security vendors – AEP Networks and Yoggie Security Systems to its UK portfolio. This is an integral part of Magirus' strategy to provide partners with a best-of-breed portfolio of established and emerging security software applications, hardware and services. Magirus will begin distribution immediately of: AEP's policy networking products; and the entire portfolio of multi-functional security appliances from Yoggie Security Systems. This expansion of Magirus' security portfolio in the UK follows the signing of NETASQ and Radware in April. Magirus' appointment of the new vendors provides a broader security portfolio, creating opportunities for existing as well as new partners. The new additions to the portfolio include: The AEP Netilla Security Platform (NSP) SSL VPN with access, security, authentication and policy within a single platform for secure and effective remote working; the AEP NSP Load Balancer is a rack mount traffic management appliance to provide scalability and availability for the Netilla platform; the AEP NACpoint appliance protects against vulnerabilities by providing LAN and wireless-based endpoint health checking, quarantine and remediation. All of these products provide opportunities for resellers to target mobile workforces and also, in particular, the education sector where wireless applications are prevalent. Magirus will benefit AEP by bringing a new range of partners to the company. The Yoggie Pico Pro is a pioneering security appliance for laptops and PCs and in February won the RSA Innovation Station 2007 award. Users can benefit from 13 security applications* on a miniature, Linux-based computer contained in a USB stick which fits into a PC or laptop's USB port. The Yoggie Gatekeeper appliance features the same applications and supports multiple computing devices. This occurs via a network cable in conjunction with a standard router, allowing up to five PCs and/or laptops to be secured. Uniquely, both the Yoggie Pico Pro and Yoggie Gatekeeper Pro offload all security applications onto the appliances. They allow Internet traffic to be screened before it executes on the laptop or PC; and only once Internet traffic (including, for example, all email content and any respective attachments) has been cleansed - is it allowed to enter the computer. The products have been developed for corporate users, whether they are used as stand alone protection for a single computing device or as part of a centrally controlled corporate security strategy. They allow IT managers to extend control over their remote workforces by enforcing security policy for up to 500 PCs and laptops using the Yoggie Management Server. The server monitors and manages centrally the fleet of Yoggie Pico Pro and Yoggie Gatekeeper Pro devices. Magirus is supporting the introduction of these innovative security appliances to the UK channel. Stephen Williams , managing director at security reseller, Alizian said, “We see Magirus's best of breed approach to security as a good fit for our business.” He added, “Yoggie is a good case in point. It's not often you can say that there is genuine innovation, however these all-in-one appliances provide a leap in the level of Wifi security on offer for remote workers.” About Magirus With a turnover of approximately €700m and more than 600 employees, Magirus is one of the leading IT infrastructure and software providers in Europe.
