AEP Series A Upgrade to Release 7.2 Now Available

Professional Services Reminder
Because Series A release 7 and later represents a significant re-design resulting in faster performance and more, the upgrade process for migrating from release 6 to release 7 is more time consuming than previous upgrades. Customers may prefer to have AEP perform the upgrade for them. Professional services options are listed in the Series A price book.

What's New in Series A Release 7.2
  • Citrix XenServer (v5.6.0) and Microsoft Hyper-V Support (Windows Server 2008 R2) hypervisor support.
  • VASCO Authentication Enhancements: Manage large numbers of Digipasses more efficiently with the latest improvements to the VASCO Digipass management section of the Series A Adminsitrator Site.
  • New Report Type Added: A new summary report type has been added that contains general usage information such as the total number of logins over a given period of time. This type of report is ideal for billing purposes.
  • Customizable Standalone Tunnel Messages: Log in and error messages may be customized for the standalone Tunnel client via the Customization menu section of the Series A Administrator Site.
  • Chinese Localization: Chinese language is now available as a localization option for the end user interface. (System Configuration>General>Local)
  • Tunnel Startup via CLI: The Series A Tunnel client can be started and stopped via command line interface.
  • Universal Printing Policy Granularity: Universal printing privileges for applications (Secure RDS & RDP via Port Forwarder) can be granted on a per user or per realm basis as well as for all users.

What's New in Series A Release 7.0
  • Reporting: Produce user activity reports for auditing, compliance and usage measurement reporting. Having report auto-emailed at regular intervals
  • Access Level Management: Limit privileges for users who do not pass client integrity checks for remediation options or to allow business continuity with a reduced level of access.
  • Mac Tunnel Client: Tunnel support for Mac clients running Snow Leopard, Leopard and Tiger OS with i386 and x64 architectures has been added and are available as web-based and standalone clients.
  • Cluster Configuration Sync: Configuration profiles among appliances in a load balanced cluster are synchronized for ease of management and consistency.
  • Application Configuration Improvements: Administrators can list and modify the groups to which an application belongs via the Applications>Configuration menu.
  • 64-bit OS: Series A’s operating system is now 64-bit. The latest Series A hardware models (2500/4500/6500/8500) support 64-bit as well as older models with a 64-bit processor. For virtual editions, Series A’s Virtual Appliance VMware host must be 64-bit compatible.
  • 256 bit Key Length: For added security, administrators can require clients to use a key length of 256.
