The trusted choice for high impact DNSSEC deployments
Somerset, NJ - March 23, 2010 - AEP Networks today announced a joint solution developed in collaboration with BT Diamond IP to meet the needs of organizations for FIPS 140-2 Level 4 DNSSEC secure communications. The solution comprises AEP Keyper Hardware Security Module (HSM) and IPControlTM Sapphire DNS appliance. These have been extensively tested together to ensure full compatibility. Both companies will be exhibiting in the DNSSEC Pavilion at FOSE. AEP Networks will be in booth #1901; BT Diamond IP will be in booth #2002.
DNSSEC uses public key cryptography to digitally sign DNS messages, which places new computational loads on servers that sign DNS zones. Storage requirements also increase because the digital signature for each DNS record tends to be longer than the record. Generating, storing and managing cryptographic keys to a high level of assurance requires Hardware Security Modules (HSMs). The AEP Keyper HSM is rated to FIPS 140-2 Level 4 - the highest level of security defined in this standard. This allows it to be used in unprotected environments without risking key compromise.
IPControl Sapphire DNS appliances from BT Diamond IP - pre-installed with de facto industry standard BIND DNS software from Internet Systems Consortium, Inc. (ISC) - manage, automate and centralise control over all DNSSEC configuration requirements. They have been developed and tested with AEP Keyper to produce a combined solution that is the trusted choice for high-impact DNSSEC deployments.
